Vardena, aged 67 is a local fisherman from Unawatuna. Vardena has been fishing almost every day for as long as he can remember. But what nature gives, sometimes it takes away. In 2004 the ocean that he loves so much took away what he loved the most. Vardena lost his wife and son to a devastating Tsunami that also left him homeless and without a boat.
