Hannelore aged 16 was born into the circus. Together with her mother she rides circus elephants and camels in some of the main acts. Out of the arena she is just another teenage girl. Here her brother and cousin can be seen in the background practicing the on the tight rope.
Frank is the main man. A clumsy clown one minute and a brave tiger tamer the next. But whether he is making people laugh or scream, it's the circus administration that occupies his mind. The economic crisis, new laws, internet, tv and inflexible local politicians. Frank believes all this is causing his five generation old spectacle to suffer a severe downfall, one from which they may not be able to recover.
Suna is seen here getting a scrub before her next act. Much has been said for animals in the circus. As far as the circus artists are concerned the circus would seize to exist as we know it without the animals. Or like Frank said to me " I have grown up with mara and suna"
