During the winter the eagle sleeps inside the yurt with the family. It would not survive the extreme cold outside.
Hunting season is from October to February, which coincides with the coldest months. During these months the pray is easier to spot, since food is scarce and the prey needs to come out from hiding.
Mr Shamurat is Muslim like most Kazakhs. He's not, however, a big believer. He doesn't pray five times a day like a practising Muslim. In fact, he rarely prays at all.
