Meet the Lopez sisters
Read MoreMeet Eliza and Frances Lopez. The two sisters hesitated and debated before answering the question i put to them 'how would you like to be known?'.
Servants of Jesus Christ and Preachers of the everlasting gospel was their answer.
Their faith is the most important thing in there lives. It's what has kept them together during many hardships and it's what keeps them focused in their undertaking to achieve God's approval.Eliza (74) is the oldest of the two sisters.
At the age of 31, during a bad spell of flu, she stayed at home from work. It was then that she suddenly felt compelled to reach for a small gospel book that was lying around the house and began to read.
This small book was to change not just her life but also that of her sister and mother. Eliza felt that she should start reading the bible proper and so she bought one. She has not stopped reading it everyday since.
Her sister and her mother were encouraged by her dedication, and by 1984 all three of them had decided to take to the streets and preach the gospels. After their mother died in 1996 the sisters continued to live together. Eliza, a retired seamstress has taken the role of housekeeper, whilst Frances works in a local fabric store.
Although they don't preach in the streets any longer they still spend long hours reading the bible and adapting it to their daily lives.Francis is the youngest of the two sisters. She still goes to work every day, and returns in the evening to her sister.
Keeping the faith has not always been easy. They have numerous stories to tell about the hardships they have had to face on the streets while preaching.
Frances recalls the day they got arrested for conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace. A very stressful time for the sisters who were eventually released without charge by the courts.
Looking back now they find it difficult to imagine how they've managed to keep it up for so many years. The sisters have never been married or experienced the joys of raising children. They never travel and don't have many interests other than knitting, watching an old black and white movie and reading the bible.
So why so much sacrifice and dedication? 'We consider it a huge job to have been preaching for so many years. We are hoping it will be rewarded in heaven.'
