Chichicastenango is a large indigenous town wich holds one of the biggest weekly markets in Guatemala. A blind man begs for money on the steps leeding up to the main church whilst a Mayan women burns offerings to the gods and others are busy selling flowers. Chichicastenango, Guatemala, 2014.
The Chichicastenango – locally referred to as “Chichi” – market has existed for centuries and continues to draw vendors from all over Guatemala, including Mam, Ixil and Kaqchikel.
